The constant rise of energy prices makes geothermal heat a profitable form of energy in contrast to fossil fuels. Also on the rise is the application of ground source heat pumps (GSHP) for heating, but also for cooling, private and commercial buildings. The new Geodrill 20 V, manufactured by TRACTO-TECHNIK, was designed exclusively for sinking geothermal energy bores, it works with a double-headed drilling system. The application of two independently steered bore heads, with the ring bore crown on the outer rods and a deep hole hammer attached to the inner rods, allows the Geodrill 20 V to penetrate even the hardest rocky layers quickly and without any problems. Fluid-assisted drilling with an external slush pump can also be performed with the double-headed drilling system. Two hydraulic motors drive the outer rods via the front, the inner rods via the rear rotary drive. The drilling spoil is quickly transported out of the bore hole by the outer rods turning to the left and the inner rods turning to the right at the same time. After the bore hole has been completed, the rods can be pulled out with a pulling force of 200 kN max. and a pulling speed up to 20 m/min. The safe and operation-friendly regulation of all drilling functions is performed single-handedly with a cable-conducted remote control equipped with three joysticks. A double rod-gripping system makes sure of the rapid and safe assembly and disassembly of the drill rods. The high-quality, robust machine and mast construction with hardened slide rails, large track rollers, stable guiding slide and a large thrust chain with 3.5-fold security are also worth mentioning. When the Geodrill 20V was designed and developed, special attention was paid to the application of the machine in confined conditions and on properties with buildings and surroundings of higher value. The rubber-tracked undercarriage and low load per surface of the Geodrill 20 V leave hardly any trace or signs of compaction on lawns and other surfaces. The relatively small footprint of the unit occupies very little space. A transportation width of only 1.60 m enables comfortable shunting, even if the space is rather confined. Extreme stability is guaranteed by a compensative weight distribution – the total weight amounts to only 9,300 kg – and efficient front and rear supports. Modern suction cleaning technique prevents dust or waste-water pollution. Noise emission is very low, thanks to elaborate sound absorbing measures. After application, the drill rig can be cleaned efficiently and comfortably with the high-pressure cleaner driven by hydraulic. All in all, the Geodrill 20 V was designed in view of greatest efficiency concerning dimensions, performance and application conditions. | ||
